Genentech signs $55M upfront deal with AI firm Earendil Labs to develop bispecific cancer antibodies, potential total value over $1.5B

Genentech announced a partnership with AI‑driven Earendil Labs that includes a $55 million upfront payment and could exceed $1.5 billion when development, regulatory and sales milestones are met. The collaboration will focus on discovering and developing bispecific antibody therapies for cancer.

Under the agreement, Earendil will lead antibody discovery and early clinical research, while Genentech will assume responsibility for global clinical development and eventual commercialization. The deal also provides for tiered royalties on net sales if any products reach the market.

The companies did not disclose specific oncology targets. The announcement came on the same day Roche, Genentech’s parent, disclosed a separate cardiometabolic and renal partnership with Atavistik Bio valued at up to $2 billion.
