AstraZeneca and Amgen report positive Phase 3 results for Tezspire in eosinophilic esophagitis

AstraZeneca and Amgen announced that their joint drug Tezspire met primary and secondary endpoints in a late-stage Phase 3 trial for eosinophilic esophagitis.

The antibody targets TSLP and had previously received approval for severe asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis. In the study, patients showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in disease markers and symptoms at 24 weeks, with benefits sustained for a year.

The companies said they will submit the data to regulators and present the findings at an upcoming medical conference, noting the result could add a third indication and unlock a potential blockbuster market.

The success adds to Tezspire’s growing portfolio and may boost revenue expectations for both firms.
