Legend Biotech CEO Ying Huang resigns abruptly, board taps interim leader

Legend Biotech announced that its chief executive, Dr. Ying Huang, has stepped down unexpectedly, leaving the role vacant.

Huang, who moved from chief financial officer to CEO in 2020 after a customs probe involving the company's founder, had not indicated any disagreement with the firm’s operations or financial reporting in the resignation filing.

The board has named Alan Bash, currently president of the company’s Carvykti program, as an interim chief while a permanent replacement is sought. Bash will continue overseeing the multiple myeloma CAR-T therapy, and Huang will remain as an advisor through August to aid the transition.
