Cytokinetics' Myqorzo meets primary goals in Phase 3 trial for non-obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Cytokinetics announced that its experimental therapy Myqorzo achieved its primary endpoints in a Phase 3 study of patients with non-obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).

The trial showed a statistically significant increase in peak oxygen consumption and improved heart-health scores after 36 weeks compared with placebo.

Secondary endpoints, including a standard symptom questionnaire, were also met, and the safety profile was consistent with earlier studies, with no new safety signals identified.

A notable drop in left ventricular ejection fraction greater than 50% was observed in 27 patients receiving Myqorzo versus one patient on placebo, highlighting a safety consideration as the drug moves forward.
