CSL appoints GSK veteran Deborah Waterhouse as new CEO to steer company through challenges
CSL announced that Deborah Waterhouse, former head of GSK's HIV business ViiV Healthcare and former president of GSK Global Health, will become its new chief executive.
Waterhouse joins CSL as the company confronts a difficult year that included downgraded earnings, a $5 billion balance‑sheet hit and falling share price amid rising competition and pricing pressure.
She brings more than 30 years of experience at GSK, including leadership of ViiV since 2017, oversight of global health initiatives, and prior roles as president of GSK Australia and New Zealand.
GSK will fill Waterhouse’s former responsibilities with Lynn Baxter, currently president of GSK Europe, who will assume the role in November.
