Nurix halts development of BTK degrader zelebrudomide after phase 1 review
Nurix announced it will discontinue clinical development of its BTK degrader zelebrudomide, also known as NX-2127, following completion of enrollment in a phase 1 trial for aggressive non‑Hodgkin lymphoma subtypes.
The candidate had previously been placed on an FDA hold in November 2023 over manufacturing concerns, resumed in March 2024, and early data were described as positive. After reviewing the trial results, the company chose to prioritize its wholly owned oncology portfolio instead of advancing the drug.
Nurix said patients already receiving zelebrudomide may continue treatment for as long as clinically appropriate, underscoring that the move reflects a strategic shift rather than a regulatory prohibition.
