Pfizer's experimental eczema drug tilrekimig shows strong skin clearance in Phase 2 trial
Pfizer reported that its three‑pronged antibody, tilrekimig, met the primary endpoint of its Phase 2 study in patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. After 16 weeks, a significantly higher proportion of participants receiving the drug achieved a 75% reduction in disease severity compared with placebo.
The trial enrolled multiple dose levels and demonstrated consistent skin clearance across the groups. Analysts noted that the results are competitive with existing therapies such as Eli Lilly's Ebglyss and the market‑leading Dupixent from Sanofi and Regeneron, though they also pointed out the lack of clear differentiation in a crowded market.
Pfizer said the data support advancing tilrekimig into later‑stage studies for eczema as well as for asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The company plans a head‑to‑head trial against Dupixent to further assess comparative efficacy and safety.
