Roche and Ionis report positive Phase 3 interim results for IgA nephropathy drug sefaxersen

Roche and Ionis announced that their experimental RNA therapy sefaxersen met its primary endpoint in an interim analysis of a Phase 3 trial for IgA nephropathy.

The trial showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful reductions in urinary protein, a key indicator of kidney health.

The companies said detailed data will be presented at an upcoming medical meeting and submitted to regulators, with a two-year follow-up planned to track kidney function.

If approved, sefaxersen would join a growing market of IgA nephropathy treatments such as Novartis' Fabhalta, which are priced around $400,000 to $500,000 annually.
