Boehringer Ingelheim to invest up to $1B in AI-driven solid tumor partnership with Envisagenics

Boehringer Ingelheim announced a partnership with Envisagenics to develop precision oncology therapies that use artificial intelligence to identify cancer-specific RNA splicing alterations.

The collaboration could involve more than $1 billion in funding, including an unspecified upfront commitment, research support, option fees and milestone payments, with Envisagenics eligible for royalties on product sales.

Both companies plan to target the identified RNA splicing events with modalities such as multi-specific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates and T cell engagers, and Boehringer will have an option to secure an exclusive license for certain targets.
