Invivyd appoints chairman Marc Elia as CEO ahead of COVID antibody readout
Invivyd, an infectious-disease biotech, announced that its chairman Marc Elia will also serve as chief executive officer.
Elia, who joined the board in 2022 and helped shape the company's scientific and corporate strategy, will lead the firm as it prepares for top-line data from its lead monoclonal antibody program, VYD2311, in the third quarter.
The Phase 3 trial of VYD2311 is designed to evaluate prevention of symptomatic COVID-19 in adults and adolescents, and the company says the antibody could extend protection beyond current vaccines.
In a statement, Elia, who has experienced long COVID himself, said the company aims to protect patients and believes its antibody platform could transform COVID prevention and broader infectious-disease treatment.
