Spyre Therapeutics reports positive Phase 2 results for anti-IL-23 antibody SPY003 in ulcerative colitis

Spyre Therapeutics announced that its anti‑IL‑23 antibody, SPY003, achieved its primary and secondary goals in a Phase 2 ulcerative colitis study. The trial, part A of the Skyline program, enrolled 44 patients with moderate to severe disease.

The primary endpoint showed a 10‑point drop in the Robarts Histopathology Index by week 12, indicating reduced disease activity. Secondary measures included a 20% clinical remission rate based on the modified Mayo Score and a 30% rate of endoscopic improvement.

SPY003’s success follows earlier positive readouts for Spyre’s other investigational antibodies, SPY001 (anti‑α4β7) and SPY002 (anti‑TL1A), completing a trio of Phase 2 wins that support the company’s three‑pronged IBD strategy.
