Infinimmune secures $75 million Series A to develop longer-lasting eczema antibody therapies
Infinimmune, a biotech based in Alameda, California, announced on Tuesday that it has closed a $75 million Series A financing round. The capital will support the development of its first two clinical candidates aimed at treating atopic dermatitis.
The funding comes as the market for eczema therapies expands, with Dupixent remaining a best-selling drug but facing challenges such as frequent injections and a slow onset of action. Analysts project the global atopic dermatitis market to reach $37.3 billion by 2033.
Infinimmune’s approach focuses on antibody drugs that it says could provide longer durability and greater efficacy than existing biologics. CEO Wyatt McDonnell noted that while the clinical landscape is crowded, the commercial space is less saturated, offering an opportunity for new entrants.
With four injectable biologics already approved for the condition, the company hopes its differentiated mechanism will allow it to capture a share of the growing market.
