Roche appoints Dan Malarek as President and CEO of Diagnostics North America, creates new CCO role

Roche announced that Dan Malarek, who has led Foundation Medicine since 2023, will become President and CEO of Roche Diagnostics North America.

Malarek, a 19‑year veteran of Roche, will succeed Brad Moore, who is retiring at the end of July after a decade in the role. He will report to Matt Sause, global CEO of Roche Diagnostics, and the North American unit will stay in Indianapolis.

In August, Vera Grossman, current COO of Foundation Medicine, will act as interim CEO until a permanent replacement is named.

Roche also created a new Chief Commercial Officer position, appointing Antonio Vergara, a three‑decade Roche veteran, to lead U.S. commercial business units and report directly to Malarek.
