Gene-editing biotech Scribe Therapeutics files for Nasdaq IPO
Scribe Therapeutics, a California-based biotechnology startup developing genetic medicines for cardiometabolic disorders, announced plans to go public on the Nasdaq under the ticker SCTX.
The company has collaborations with Biogen, Sanofi and Eli Lilly, and its lead candidate STX-1150, a treatment aimed at lowering high cholesterol by targeting PCSK9, entered the clinic last month.
CEO Benjamin Oakes, a former researcher with Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna, highlighted the potential of the company’s epigenetic silencing technology as a more elegant approach to gene editing and noted growing interest from large pharmaceutical firms.
The SEC filing makes Scribe potentially the 14th biotech to launch an IPO in 2026.
