Takeda’s oral psoriasis drug outperforms Bristol Myers’ Sotyktu in Phase 3 trial

Takeda announced that its experimental oral medication for plaque psoriasis achieved superior results compared with Bristol Myers Squibb’s Sotyktu in a head-to-head Phase 3 study.

The trial measured the proportion of patients achieving complete skin clearance, and Takeda’s drug, Zasocitinib, demonstrated a higher rate of full clearance than the comparator.

The positive outcome supports Takeda’s multi-billion-dollar investment in the oral therapy and moves the product closer to regulatory submission.

Bristol Myers Squibb’s data were not detailed, but the head-to-head design highlights the competitive landscape for new oral treatments in psoriasis.
