Takeda's zasocitinib clears scalp psoriasis in 75% of patients in phase 3 data

Takeda released updated results from its two phase 3 trials of the oral TYK2 inhibitor zasocitinib, enrolling a total of 1,801 patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.

The data showed that 75% of participants achieved clear or almost clear scalp psoriasis at week 16, with 77% and 74% clearance rates in the two studies compared with 7% and 13% on placebo and 42% and 30% on Amgen's Otezla.

For difficult-to-treat sites such as the palms and soles, the drug produced nearly 70% clearance, far exceeding the 22% and 10% seen with placebo and matching or surpassing the 44% and 43% response rates reported for Otezla.

Takeda highlighted the rapid and robust response across high-impact areas, positioning zasocitinib as a promising option for patients who have struggled with existing therapies.
