Tango Therapeutics reports 82% response rate for PRMT5 inhibitor combo in pancreatic cancer trial
Tango Therapeutics announced a 14% reduction in its workforce while also presenting new data on its PRMT5 inhibitor combined with Revolution Medicines’ RAS(ON) inhibitor Rasonque at the ESMO 2026 meeting.
The phase 1/2 study enrolled 29 patients with previously treated, MTAP‑deleted and RAS‑mutant metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Of the 22 patients who were efficacy‑evaluable as of the August 20 data cutoff, the combination achieved an overall response rate of 82%.
Although seven of the 18 partial responses were unconfirmed at the cutoff, all responses were later confirmed. The nine‑month progression‑free survival rate was reported at 88% and the disease‑control rate reached 100%, with median PFS not yet reached.
Analysts highlighted the results as evidence of a highly synergistic effect, noting that the efficacy and early durability appear higher than historical data for Rasonque alone, which showed an ORR of about 29% in a comparable patient group.
