Estuary Biotherapeutics raises $103M to advance gene therapies for polycystic kidney disease
Estuary Biotherapeutics announced it has exited stealth mode after securing $103 million in financing to move two gene‑therapy candidates into clinical testing for autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).
The round includes a $93 million Series A led by RA Capital Management, with participation from Deep Track Capital, Biogen New Ventures, UPMC Enterprises, and existing investors 4BIO Capital and GV, which co‑led the earlier $10 million seed round.
The funding will support generation of clinical proof‑of‑concept data for EST‑201 and EST‑101, therapies designed to address the underlying genetic mutations in PKD1 or PKD2 that drive ADPKD.
The program builds on research from Yale School of Medicine professors Stefan Somlo and Michael Caplan, and the company’s leadership also includes former Eli Lilly gene‑therapy executive Xavier Anguela and CEO Wayne Sackett.
