Agilent to acquire digital pathology software firm Proscia for $240 million upfront
Agilent Technologies announced an all‑cash acquisition of Proscia, a digital pathology software specialist, for $240 million upfront with up to $30 million in milestone payments.
The deal gives Agilent control of Proscia’s Concentriq platform, a central operating layer that manages images, data and workflows for digital pathology across clinical and life‑science users in the United States and Europe.
The platform is already used by more than 4,000 laboratories, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies and supports a broad range of diagnostic and research applications, including third‑party AI tools, distinguishing it from competitors that focus on single disease areas.
The acquisition builds on a multi‑year distribution agreement the companies signed in September 2022 to provide a comprehensive digital diagnostic‑pathology system, and Agilent says it will strengthen its role in biopharmaceutical research, clinical development and diagnostics.
