GE HealthCare to buy Sofie Biosciences for $945 million, boosting U.S. PET radiopharma capacity
GE HealthCare announced it will acquire Sofie Biosciences for $945 million in cash, aiming to broaden its radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution in the United States.
Sofie Biosciences operates as a contract manufacturing organization that produces F18-labeled PET radiopharmaceuticals, which have a short 110-minute half-life and require rapid production and delivery.
The acquisition will add a U.S. footprint for GE HealthCare’s PDx pharmaceutical diagnostics business, allowing the company to expand access to its existing F18 products and develop new ones through Sofie and other CMO partners.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, according to the companies.
