AstraZeneca partners with Oracle to boost clinical trial patient recruitment using AI

Oct 20, 2026·read at Fierce Biotech ↗DealPositive

AstraZeneca announced a collaboration with data-technology firm Oracle to apply artificial-intelligence tools to clinical-trial recruitment.

The non-binding agreement will let the partners explore selected use cases that could help care teams identify eligible patients earlier and improve overall trial efficiency.

Initial disease areas under consideration include oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, respiratory and immunology indications.

AstraZeneca's chief of digital, data and AI said the partnership could strengthen safety monitoring and accelerate diagnosis, building on the company's own AI framework that has already halved the time needed to identify molecular structures.
