Krasnyi Oktyabr Inc. of Brooklyn, New York announced a voluntary recall of its Starfish Seafood Trio, which includes cold smoked salmon, halibut and trout packaged in 8‑oz vacuum‑sealed packs.
The recall was triggered because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause serious infection, particularly in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
The affected items were distributed in New York, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina and South Carolina. They carry lot number D139149161‑153, expire on 12/01/2027, and originate from Latvia. No illnesses have been reported to date.
