Gias Foods recalls bettergoods Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine over possible Listeria contamination
Gias Foods of New York announced a recall of two lots of its bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine after routine testing indicated a potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria can cause severe illness, particularly in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and anyone with a weakened immune system, leading to symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The frozen 22‑oz product, sold nationwide at Walmart stores, is identified by lot numbers L6079C and L6080C and carries expiration dates of September 19 and 20, 2027.
No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall follows a sampling program by the Washington State Department of Health and is being overseen by the FDA.
