Gias Foods recalls Bettergoods Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine over possible Listeria contamination
Gias Foods of New York announced a recall of all lot codes of its Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine after routine testing indicated possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
Listeria can cause serious infections, especially in young children, the elderly, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals, with symptoms ranging from fever and headache to severe gastrointestinal distress and, in rare cases, miscarriage or stillbirth.
The frozen 22-oz packages, identified by UPC 194346442706, were distributed nationwide through Walmart stores. No illnesses have been reported so far.
The recall was triggered by sampling by Washington State and Florida agriculture departments, and Gias Foods has halted distribution while it investigates the issue.
