GSK partners with Chai Discovery to use AI protein-folding models after successful wet-lab tests

GSK has entered a collaboration with Chai Discovery, a biotech firm that offers AI‑driven protein folding and design tools.

The agreement gives GSK access to Chai's models, which were reported to create designs for GSK targets without any target‑specific training.

In GSK's own laboratory experiments, the AI‑generated designs showed binding to every target tested, indicating strong affinity.

GSK's senior vice president of R&D technologies said the platform will complement the company's internal models and help accelerate the discovery of new medicines.
