Kodiak Sciences' zenkuda and tabirafusp-ted match Eylea in Phase 3, sending stock up 166%

Kodiak Sciences announced Phase 3 results for two investigational eye‑disease drugs, zenkuda (anti‑VEGF antibody biopolymer conjugate) and tabirafusp‑ted (anti‑IL‑6/VEGF bispecific), which performed on par with Regeneron’s Eylea at the one‑year mark.

The data came from the DAYBREAK trial evaluating treatments for wet age‑related macular degeneration (wAMD). Both candidates met the efficacy benchmark set by aflibercept (Eylea), a standard of care for the condition.

Following the readout, Kodiak’s shares jumped 166% in early trading, reaching $86.53. The company plans to file a regulatory submission for zenkuda in the final quarter of the year, while additional late‑stage studies in diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion‑related macular edema, and another wAMD trial are ongoing.
