Genentech signs $1.5 billion bispecific antibody deal with Earendil Labs

Genentech, Roche's US subsidiary, announced a licensing agreement with Earendil Labs to discover and develop multiple bispecific antibodies aimed at oncology.

The agreement provides a $55 million upfront payment and includes development, regulatory and sales milestones that could lift the total value beyond $1.5 billion, along with tiered royalties on net product sales.

Earendil will lead antibody discovery and early clinical development, after which Genentech will assume responsibility for later-stage trials, global clinical testing and commercialization.

The partnership follows recent sizable deals for Earendil, such as a $125 million Sanofi agreement and an $885 million ADC technology deal with WuXi XDC, highlighting the startup's growing prominence in the biotech sector.
