Roche presents positive Phase 2 results for enicepatide in overweight and obese type 2 diabetes patients

Roche has released new data from a Phase 2 trial of enicepatide, a peptide acquired from Carmot Therapeutics, focusing on overweight or obese adults with type 2 diabetes.

The trial met its primary efficacy endpoints, showing a statistically significant reduction in key glucose measures compared with placebo, and was well tolerated with no new safety signals.

These results strengthen Roche’s diabetes pipeline and suggest the drug could move into later-stage testing, although further studies will be needed to confirm long-term benefits.
