England's NHS to fund AstraZeneca's Enhertu for metastatic breast cancer after U.K.-U.S. pricing pact

Sep 17, 2026·read at STAT ↗DealPositive

English health authorities have agreed to provide AstraZeneca's breast cancer drug Enhertu through the NHS, ending a multi-year dispute over its availability.

The decision will make the drug accessible to roughly 1,000 patients in England who have metastatic breast cancer with low HER2 expression, expanding its use beyond the limited groups previously treated.

The move follows a U.K.-U.S. drug pricing agreement reached late last year, under which the UK health agency raised the cost-effectiveness threshold for NHS reimbursement, facilitating the deal.

Enhertu is already funded in Scotland since 2023 and is reimbursed in 26 other European countries, highlighting its broader acceptance across the region.
