Sacituzumab Govitecan-Trastuzumab Combo Shows Low Response in HER2-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer After T-DXD
The phase 2 SATEEN trial evaluated sacituzumab govitecan combined with trastuzumab in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer who had progressed on T-DXD.
The study enrolled 27 evaluable patients and reported an overall response rate of 3.7%, with only one confirmed partial response.
The clinical benefit rate for responses lasting at least 18 weeks was 14.8%.
Because the primary endpoint was not met, the trial was halted for futility after the first stage of its Simon two-stage design.
The results were presented at the 2026 ESMO Breast Cancer Congress, marking the first prospective data for this combination in HER2-positive disease.
