Encoded Therapeutics secures $275M Series F to push Dravet gene therapy and expand manufacturing
Encoded Therapeutics, a biotech focused on neuro‑genetic disorders, announced a $275 million Series F financing round. The capital was co‑led by Google Ventures and an undisclosed healthcare fund, with participation from several other investors.
The money will fund a pivotal trial of ETX101, an AAV9‑based gene therapy aimed at increasing SCN1A expression in inhibitory neurons of infants and young children with SCN1A‑positive Dravet syndrome. The company also plans to submit an IND in 2027 for ETX301, another AAV9‑based microRNA therapy targeting post‑amputation neuroma pain.
Earlier this year, Encoded began dosing patients in a phase 2 study of ETX101, reporting a 78 percent reduction in seizures. The funding also supports the construction of internal manufacturing capacity to produce genetic medicines at scale.
The financing follows a 29 percent staff reduction in early 2025 that was intended to preserve resources for the drug’s development, a move the company says has helped advance its clinical program.
