Structure Therapeutics reports oral GLP-1 weight-loss results comparable to Wegovy and strong Phase 1 amylin data

Structure Therapeutics announced that its oral GLP-1 candidate aleniglipron achieved 72-week weight-loss results that BMO Capital Markets said were in line with Novo Nordisk’s oral Wegovy. Participants taking the 180-mg dose lost up to 16.2% of body weight with no sign of a plateau.

The analysts noted the result also exceeds the 12.4% loss reported for Eli Lilly’s Foundayo in its Phase 3 ATTAIN-1 trial, while Wegovy’s 25-mg pill showed a 16.6% reduction at 64 weeks.

In a separate Phase 1 study, Structure’s dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist ACCG-2671 demonstrated strong target engagement in healthy volunteers, described as “impressive” by Leerink Partners.

These data bolster Structure’s position in the competitive oral obesity market and suggest the company may attract further investor interest as it advances both programs.
