ADARx, backed by AbbVie, files for IPO to fund clinical-stage siRNA programs
ADARx Pharmaceuticals, a San Diego biotech supported by AbbVie, announced plans to pursue an initial public offering.
The company says most of the IPO proceeds will be used to advance three clinical-stage siRNA medicines, including agazisiran, which is in phase 2 trials for several complement‑mediated kidney diseases, a rare blood disorder, and geographic atrophy linked to age‑related macular degeneration.
ADARx also intends to allocate funds to potentially start phase 3 trials of a complement factor B‑targeting siRNA in the same indications, depending on mid‑stage results.
The firm has already moved a prekallikrein‑targeted siRNA, onvuzosiran, into phase 3 development for hereditary angioedema, and the IPO capital will support that study.
