TScan Therapeutics slashes 75% of staff as it pivots to solid tumor program

TScan Therapeutics announced on Sept. 2 that it is cutting roughly 75% of its workforce, about 104 employees, as part of a strategic reorganization.

The move follows a November 2025 layoff that eliminated 30% of staff, a step the company said was needed to extend its cash runway into the second half of 2027.

In the reorganization, TScan is pausing its heme malignancies program, seeking strategic partners for its heme and autoimmune projects, and concentrating on advancing two in vivo T cell therapy candidates for solid tumors into IND‑enabling studies.

The cuts also include the departure of CFO Jason Amello and CMO Chrystal Louis, and the elimination of its internal manufacturing organization.
