TScan Therapeutics cuts 75% of staff to focus on preclinical solid tumor programs

TScan Therapeutics said it will cut about three quarters of its workforce after pausing its hematological and autoimmune programs.

The company will shift resources to its preclinical solid tumor programs while allowing data from its phase 1 and phase 3 hematology trials to mature.

CEO Gavin MacBeath explained that insufficient capital led to pausing enrollment in the phase 3 trial and that the firm is actively looking for partners for the halted programs.

The move comes two weeks after Amgen terminated a $500 million collaboration with TScan on a Crohn’s disease candidate, citing a strategic review of its portfolio.

TScan’s solid tumor efforts aim at targeting abnormally expressed proteins, including antigens preferentially expressed in melanoma.
