Alumis' TYK2 inhibitor flunks mid-stage lupus trial, shares drop 55%

Alumis reported that its experimental TYK2 inhibitor, envudeucitinib, failed to meet any primary or secondary endpoints in a mid-stage study of systemic lupus erythematosus.

The company highlighted that a subgroup of patients with a high interferon gene signature showed strong responses, indicating a possible targeted benefit.

Alumis said it will meet with regulators to discuss a potential Phase 3 trial focused on that subgroup.

The negative outcome sent the stock down roughly 55%, erasing the gains the company had achieved after earlier positive psoriasis data.
