Nine midsize biopharma firms join Trump MFN drug pricing program, covering 89% of branded market

Sep 1, 2026·read at BioSpace ↗RegulatoryPositive

Nine midsize biopharma companies have agreed to voluntarily participate in the Trump administration's Most Favored Nation drug pricing program, adding to the 17 large pharmaceutical firms that previously signed on.

The new participants include Alcon, Astellas Pharma, BeOne Medicines, BridgeBio, CSL, Kyowa Kirin, Sun Pharma, Teva Pharmaceuticals and UCB, according to a White House release.

The agreements are intended to lower prices for medicines treating chronic and rare conditions such as hemophilia, Parkinson's disease, glaucoma and several cancers. The companies also pledged at least $19.6 billion in near‑term manufacturing investments in the United States, with some, including UCB, Sun Pharma, Astellas and Teva, committing additional strategic contributions.
