AstraZeneca and Amgen’s Tezspire eyes Dupixent’s EoE stronghold after late-stage trial win

Analysts note that AstraZeneca and Amgen have secured a late‑stage trial win for Tezspire, positioning the drug as a possible challenger to Dupixent in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).

Dupixent remains the only approved biologic for EoE, having entered the indication in 2022 after showing roughly 60% histologic remission versus about 6% for placebo in pivotal studies. It also improved swallowing difficulty scores by roughly 22‑24 points compared with 10‑14 points on placebo.

Tezspire, co‑developed by the two companies, has not yet released detailed Phase 3 data, but the positive trial outcome suggests it could compete with Dupixent’s established market presence.
