Haisco licenses inflammatory disease candidate to US startup Sentivera; ViiV's HIV drug cleared for newborns

Haisco Pharmaceutical announced that it has granted a license to US biotech Sentivera for the ex‑China rights to an unnamed inflammatory‑disease candidate. The agreement gives Sentivera the ability to develop and commercialize the drug outside of China.

Sentivera, a startup backed by ARCH Venture Partners and Population Health, will now pursue the candidate in markets where Haisco does not operate. The move expands the Chinese biotech's reach while providing the U.S. company with a potentially valuable asset.

In a separate regulatory update, ViiV Healthcare received approval for its HIV treatment to be used in newborns. The clearance allows the therapy to be administered to infants at risk of mother‑to‑child transmission.

Both developments highlight ongoing cross‑border collaborations and the expanding therapeutic options for patients with inflammatory diseases and HIV.
