GSK partners with Sino Biopharma to expand access to hepatitis B drug bepirovirsen in China

GSK announced a marketing agreement with Sino Biopharmaceutical to distribute its experimental hepatitis B therapy bepirovirsen in China.

Sino's subsidiary will purchase a supply of the drug and use its network of more than 5,000 medical centers to promote it, under an initial five and a half year term that can be extended by either party.

The deal also gives GSK the opportunity to review Sino's early-stage pipeline for potential partnerships outside China.

Bepirovirsen is currently under priority review in China for chronic hepatitis B, a condition that affects over 250 million people worldwide, with China accounting for roughly a third of the global burden.
