Legend Biotech CEO Ying Huang resigns, Carvykti head Max Gelman appointed interim chief

Legend Biotech announced that its chief executive officer, Ying Huang, has stepped down after serving in the role since November 2020.

Huang's resignation was reported on Friday, marking the end of a tenure that saw the company launch its blockbuster cancer therapy, Carvykti.

The board has named Max Gelman, the current head of the Carvykti program, as interim chief executive while a search for a permanent replacement is underway.

Legend Biotech indicated that the transition will be smooth and that operations will continue without interruption as it seeks new leadership.
