Scribe Therapeutics upsizes IPO to $128.7 million to fund lipid-lowering gene therapy
Scribe Therapeutics announced pricing its initial public offering at $128.7 million, surpassing the $96 million target it had set earlier in the week.
The company sold 8.6 million shares at $15 each, above the 7.1 million shares previously indicated, and began trading on Nasdaq under the ticker SCTX.
Underwriters hold an option to buy an additional 1.3 million shares, which could increase proceeds by $19.3 million. The capital will be used to advance the lead candidate STX-1150, an in‑vivo gene‑editing therapy designed to silence the PCSK9 gene for lipid‑lowering effects.
Founded in 2020 with backing from Biogen and Nobel laureate Jennifer Doudna, Scribe is leveraging CRISPR technology to develop cardiovascular treatments.
