Abbott reports cyberattack on cancer diagnostics and LabCentral portal, says operations unaffected

Abbott announced that a cyber incident on July 16 accessed a limited number of internal systems in its cancer diagnostics unit.

The company said the breach does not affect product availability, manufacturing, lab operations, or its ability to serve patients, and it expects no material impact on finances.

Abbott is working with law enforcement and third‑party cybersecurity experts to investigate and resolve the issue, and it continues to monitor its systems closely.

The attack also involved a third‑party facing LabCentral portal that contains publicly available information, which a hacker allegedly accessed according to Reuters.
