Cloudbreak Pharma’s Phase 3 Eye Drop Shows Significant Benefit in Pterygium Trial
Cloudbreak Pharma reported that its phase 3 trial of CBT-001, a multi‑kinase inhibitor eye drop for pterygium, met both co‑primary endpoints.
The study compared two doses of CBT-001 given twice daily for three months against placebo. Both doses produced a statistically larger reduction in conjunctival hyperemia, with improvements evident from week 2 and sustained through month 12.
The trial also showed that CBT-001 reduced pterygium lesion length relative to placebo, meeting the second primary endpoint. Detailed data have not yet been released.
The positive results come as Hong Kong regulators have suspended trading of Cloudbreak shares amid an IPO investigation, adding pressure on the company.
