AI pioneer Jakob Uszkoreit’s Inceptive Nucleics teams with Alnylam as biotech lobby pushes Congress for DNA safeguards

Jakob Uszkoreit, one of the architects behind the transformer model that powers ChatGPT, has turned his attention to drug development. His new venture, Inceptive Nucleics, is creating biological foundation models that can be used across a variety of sequence‑based therapies, including RNA interference, mRNA and antisense drugs.

Inceptive Nucleics announced a partnership with Alnylam, a leading RNAi therapeutics company, to apply these models to accelerate the design and optimization of RNA‑based medicines. The collaboration aims to streamline discovery pipelines and reduce development timelines for next‑generation treatments.

At the same time, leading biotech figures are urging Congress to adopt stronger safeguards for DNA data, reflecting growing concerns about privacy and security as AI tools become more integrated into genomic research.
