Eli Lilly warns 340B hospitals to submit claims data within five days or lose price discounts

Eli Lilly has given roughly 50 hospitals that participate in the federal 340B drug discount program a five‑day deadline to provide comprehensive claims data. The company says that if the data are not submitted, the hospitals will no longer receive the mandated price breaks on Lilly’s medicines.

The 340B program requires drug manufacturers to offer discounted prices to eligible hospitals and clinics that serve low‑income patients. In return, participants must track and report their drug purchases and usage to ensure compliance.

Lilly’s ultimatum puts pressure on the hospitals to quickly gather and submit detailed information, and it raises concerns about potential disruptions in drug pricing for vulnerable patient populations if the deadline is missed.
