Travere Therapeutics pays $112 million upfront to China’s Everest Medicines to expand rare kidney disease pipeline

Travere Therapeutics, a San Diego‑based biotech, announced a partnership with China‑based Everest Medicines to strengthen its rare kidney disease portfolio beyond its approved drug Filspari.

Under the agreement, Travere will provide Everest with an upfront payment of $112 million. The funds are intended to support the development of additional candidates targeting rare kidney conditions.

The collaboration aims to leverage Everest’s capabilities in China to expand the pipeline and potentially bring new therapies to patients worldwide.
