Bristol Myers reports Phase 3 data showing mezigdomide extends survival in relapsed multiple myeloma
Bristol Myers Squibb presented Phase 3 results for its experimental multiple myeloma drug mezigdomide at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting. The study evaluated mezigdomide combined with Amgen's Kyprolis and a steroid in patients whose disease had progressed after prior therapy.
The combination delayed disease progression or death by roughly ten months compared with the standard regimen alone. Participants receiving mezigdomide were 52% less likely to experience progression or death during the trial period.
The trial enrolled patients who had already failed at least one line of treatment, many of whom had received two or more prior therapies. This population reflects a heavily pre‑treated group with limited options.
Mezigdomide is one of two protein‑degrading agents Bristol Myers has submitted to U.S. regulators as potential successors to its Revlimid and Pomalyst platforms, even as the multiple myeloma landscape becomes more competitive with emerging cell therapies and bispecific antibodies.
