Verastem reports robust response in pancreatic cancer subgroup where Revolution's drug lagged
Verastem Oncology announced that its KRAS G12D‑targeting inhibitor VS‑7375 showed strong activity in a Phase 1/2 trial that includes patients with advanced solid tumors. In the pancreatic cancer cohort, four of eight patients with metastatic disease achieved a confirmed objective response after about six months of treatment at a 900 mg daily dose.
The data were presented as part of the TARGET‑D 101 study, which has enrolled 295 patients across several tumor types. Verastem highlighted a favorable safety and tolerability profile for VS‑7375 across multiple dose levels.
These results contrast with the recent performance of Revolution Medicines' newly approved pancreatic cancer drug, which showed a 24% response rate but a high side‑effect burden in the same KRAS G12D mutation subgroup. Analysts suggest the more specific activity of VS‑7375 could position it ahead for patients with this genetic profile.
