Draeger recalls VentStar Resus Neo hoses over crack risk
Draeger has issued a Class I recall for its VentStar Resus Neo breathing circuit hoses after discovering that some hoses can develop cracks or become detached.
The company sent a letter to customers on September 3 advising them to carefully inspect each hose according to the product’s instructions for use, discard any hose that shows a crack or is detached, and not return the items to Draeger.
A cracked or detached hose could fall off or leak, limiting ventilation and potentially causing desaturation, hypoxia, or even patient death. The FDA has classified the recall as the most serious type because of the risk of serious injury or death.
